exceptional debut album!!early support by groove magazine, resident advisor, oliver hafenbauer, gerd janson, lawrence more to come.. sometimes things in life never occur as planned. so it happend to edward aka. gilles aiken, when the berlinbased artist was looking for a new apartment. somehow he found himself moving to a very small fairy tale-like village called teupitz in brandenburg, germany. it was there were edward rediccovered his deep love for nature and silence. with long extensive walks along the teupitzer lake he got to the bottom of his true love for house music. within the silence he could still hear a distant pulse of basslines ringing. and after release for giegling, blooming soul and white it was time to make the next step. with all the nature surrounding him, he finally felt able to get all the music out. music which ended up as his debut album, simply called teupitz

the 3rd housewax is made by rio padice and comes once again as strong limited, handstamped release.

a split artist 10 inch on white vinyl, released by the diy label toztizok zoundz, who operate from occii, amsterdam and beyond. the record features peter quistgard from the toztizok zoundz endeavor on one side and on the other side the australian/french duo maxi bacon (featuring members of company fuck, botborg, the super users, sgure, chlorgeschlecht, gazormass) the record comes with stenciled and glossy photo artwork inserts by canadian visual artist jon vaughn, the french llcooljo and americandutch helena sanders.

after a break for over a year pattern repeat is back again with another two tracks on their own label. both kenneth & resoe has been really busy last year, so it has been difficult to meet up in the studio. but now they had the time to finish two tracks of deep dirty techno from the capitol of denmark copenhagen. again they set it of with raw dirty dub infected grooves and the a side starts up right away with the dub elements intact, and then keeps building through the rest of the track. after the short break a hypnotic atmosphere kicks off in best pattern repeat style. the b side starts slowly with an almost alfred hitchcock kind of atmosphere, with a dull kick underneath. the track keeps gettin more dirty through the 6 min. and 15 secs. it last, with more distortion added to the dub stabs. its a good way that kenneth & resoe returns since the last 12 inch they put out in december 2010, to set the stage for 2012.

the exploration of the northern heights by basic soul unit and unbroken dub brings us to the eighth release on other heights. a raw, edgy, yet still very soulful ep by two northern musical explorers.

2011 was a banner year for borrowed language – both the split 12 inch from jeff pietro & israel vines (blx-2 distance no object) and jeff pietros definitive >still< 10 inch (blx-3) garnered plaudits from all corners of the globe and were charted and played by the likes of surgeon, miles whittaker (of demdike stare fame), peter van hoesen, xhin, and many others. we kick off 2012 with this astonishing 4-track ep from detroits justin ivey, and if this is anything to go by, its going to be a hell of a year… justin ivey has been making uncompromising and challenging electronic music as dj adjust (and lowsh as well as theek) since the nineties, and he is also the founder of the beloved and highly influential cult imprint low res. while low res has always released records that reside somewhere on the extreme end of the electronic music spectrum (i.e. davros and ablecain) ivey isnt a purist - in fact, he is a true enthusiast of all types of electronic music, and it certainly shows on this 4-track ep.
